The Original Online Parenting Class

Putting Kids First started in 1993, before online classes existed, as a parenting program courts sent parents to in person. When the class moved online, it kept the same purpose: help parents in a custody or divorce case put their children first, and give the court a certificate it can trust.

That head start is why the name is known. Attorneys recommend it because their clients finish it. Judges and clerks know it because it has appeared on their approved lists and in their orders for years. Approved by Courts Nationwide is not a slogan. It is what those years bought.

Who We Are

We are a small company, and we like it that way. Putting Kids First was built by its founder, Craig Jones, who went to the courthouses himself, met the judges, and did the work that put this class on approved lists across the country. He still leads the work today. Geri Jones, our Executive Director, has run the program day to day for more than two decades and still answers the phone.

You will not reach a call center. When you write to us, a person who knows the class and knows the courts writes back.

What We Believe

1. Children do better when both parents can work together, even after the marriage ends. Every lesson comes back to that.
2. A court-ordered class should respect your time. You read at your own pace, finish when you are ready, and your certificate is issued the moment you complete the class.
3. A certificate has to hold up. Every certificate we issue carries a verification code a court, attorney, or agency can check on our site in seconds.
